One of my favorite things about the North Philly neighborhoods is when people crank open the fire hydrants and create a spot for kids to cool off and cars to get a bad wash.
It’s odd to get a shot of this without a flock of kids taking turns getting wet. Usually it’s kids I’ve had in my school program and they nag me to jump in. I compromise and soak my head before heading home.
I’m going to miss that.
